The Orbitrol treadmill was developed to improve upon conventional treadmill technology. The first treadmill which used a counterweight in the middle of the running surface had its problems and proved to be too complex and uncomfortable to use. The developers of the Orbitrol saw this as a way to improve upon the treadmill and therefore launched a new model based upon this design. The resulting treadmill is lighter, more compact, runs quieter and is a far more enjoyable experience overall.

The Orbitrol treadmills features an innovative, hand-operated power steering system that is powered by a rechargeable lithium ion battery. It provides smooth, safe and precise turning with a medium-feel deck. The steering mechanism can range from single-handedly, to two-stepped, and also in reverse. The Orbitrol is primarily used for hydrostatic power driving of commercial vehicles, building vehicles and boats, however it is also utilised for any other applications where easy visualisation of the location to be walked are important. The power steering mechanism is fully adjustable for both height and speed, making it very convenient for any working conditions.

The majority of Orbitrol treadmills feature intelligent power steering control that allows the treadmill to slow down and speed up automatically when required, so there is no need to worry about the outcome of a workout. In addition to intelligent speed and acceleration controls, the Orbitrol also features a built-in brake mechanism for added safety and operational efficiency. This braking system operates via an electronic control panel which can be accessed through the keychain accessory. The brake mechanism is activated via the foot pedal and is also configurable to engage and disengage both the drive and the brake separately.

There are various different models of Orbitrol treadmills available. The most basic model is the Orbitrol Pro Mains, which has a motor driven steer pump that is very durable and reliable. This makes it ideal for all types of working environments, including home use. The basic motor of this model is enclosed within a heat resistant housing, which is powered by two independently controlled 12 volt pump and a pair of Tilton Park heaters. The Pro Mains also features a variable speed control and a one year warranty. The console interface and push button start/stop buttons make operating this treadmill a simple and quick process.

The Orbitrol Elite Mains is powered by a single, high capacity, twin inlet. It does not have any side slip pockets and uses a roller bearing drive. This leads to a reliable performance and durable construction. A remote control is included and it allows users to adjust the inclination of the steer wheels whilst providing the necessary support. The Elite Mains is able to perform the same functions as the Pro Mains, but offers a complete range of pre-programmed workouts, including walking, running, elliptical and aerobic.

The Orbitrol Pro AC/DC Steering Pump is manufactured by four different companies namely Intermatic, Pinnacle, Whirlpool and Honda. Whirlpool is regarded as one of the leading supplier of personal fitness equipment and has been in the business since 1960. Intermatic is a private company situated in Pennsylvania, America. Whirlpool is a very successful company with over ten million units sold worldwide. The company manufactures many different fitness and mobility products, such as, exercise bikes, treadmills, elliptical trainers, power step machines and hydrotherapy systems.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
