One of the best ways to learn more about the faculty at UIC is by participating in its Research Groups. These programs are a great way to get a closer look at faculty's research interests. Many of the Faculty's research projects are conducted collaboratively, with the aim of fostering new research practices and questions. Each group may have its own goals, including workshops for papers or interdisciplinary research projects. Here are some examples of research groups.

The Global South Research Group (GSRG) reflects the increasingly global nature of CEU. The group aims to foster inter-disciplinary exchange of ideas on issues related to the Global South. The Middle East and North Africa Space, which meets at the Central European University in Budapest, brings together scholars working in these regions. The Middle East and North Africa Space is also affiliated with CEU, where it organizes movie nights, Arabic language practice, and other events.

The PERG holds weekly seminars in which members and non-members present their latest drafts of research papers. The group holds monthly reading group sessions for political economy books. In addition, it organizes annual conferences and workshops. In addition, it hosts social gatherings for its members. Its goal is to provide the best possible environment for scholarly exchange. But that's not all! For this, our Research Groups are not just about academic exchange.

The PERG holds regular seminars in which members and non-members present their latest research papers and drafts. In addition, it organizes reading sessions to discuss books in political economy. The PERG also sponsors annual conferences and workshops, and its members participate in various social activities. If you are interested in becoming a member of the PERG, click here. Your participation is very valuable! And the faculty members will be delighted to meet you!

The PERG provides an excellent environment for scholarly collaboration. The group meets regularly throughout the year, and designates a convener and co-conveners. The convener must be a faculty member. During these meetings, the members of the group can ask for lunch meeting funding from the Center for Interdisciplinary Research. Each Research Group also develops a web page to house on the Center's website. The web page describes the project and individual programs, and it contains contact information for others interested in joining.

The PERG is an excellent forum for collaboration and scholarly communication. Its members engage in regular roundtable discussions, guest lectures, and reading sessions. In addition, it welcomes interdisciplinary contributions and interventions from different disciplines. The members of PERGs often share the same interests and are interested in collaborating on research in their area. Its interdisciplinary nature makes it particularly attractive for researchers. Our interdisciplinary Research Groups are supported by the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
