Starcoded Album Review

October 19, 2021 0 Comments

StarCoded is a brand new hip hop collective consisting of Kaysola and Domino. It is produced by DJ Kaysola and Domino. It was released in January, 2021 and is extremely unique and different from other DJs that are out there right now. These two producers have been together since back in the late 90's and have gained a lot of popularity through their singles and albums. With this being said, I am going to try and analyze why StarCoded is different from other rappers.

The most basic difference that StarCoded has over others is that they release more music than anyone else. Every other rapper only releases one song a month and if they release more, people forget about them. With DJ Kaysola, he releases more than three songs each month and takes his listeners on a journey with his music. With a little bit of effort and dedication, you can really think that StarCoded has the best mixtapes out there right now.

Another difference between StarCoded and the competition is that they put out two albums each month. This is a very unique way for them to showcase their talents and let the world know what they are capable of. With a little bit of search engine optimization, you can easily pinpoint that the starcoded monthly mixtape is hosted by DJ Kaysola and Domino. They definitely put their best foot forward with this. Other rappers might put out great music, but it is rare to find someone who consistently drops quality music.

I believe that the greatest thing about the StarCoded mixtape is the fact that DJ Kaysola and Domino do not always fall into the trap of making the same trap song. Each song is a original and is something completely different. Sometimes, it's hard to tell exactly which song will be on which installment of the Starcoded Monthly Mixtape. While I don't expect the DJ's to go too deep into their back catalog, they sure make it seem like they are coming up with new songs all the time.

One of my favorite things about StarCoded is how they use samples from old songs. Even though they have pretty much covered every genre that exists, sometimes they throw in an original sample from an older song that fans haven't heard before. Usually these aren't sample packs but just independent songs that are made for radio play. I have been very impressed by some of the music that they have drop at their website. Most of the music is electronica based and has a melodic feel to it. It almost sounds like something that would come out of a classical record.

The only bad thing about StarCoded is that they tend to release four songs every month. While that is still a decent amount, I feel like they should release an album instead. That way fans of their music will get to hear all of the songs and experience some anticipation for what they will be hearing next. In my opinion, the new albums by Starcoded should be released on CD or vinyl as a double album instead of the monthly release that they have done.

Some say he’s half man half fish, others say he’s more of a seventy/thirty split. Either way he’s a fishy bastard.
