The Day Of Unceasing Prayer - A Prayers For The Deceased Part 1

What do Christians do when they want to pray or want to give their prayers attention? Do they just stop at a prayer card or book and pray silently to themselves? I think they don't. I think a lot of people don't realize that to really give attention to your prayers, you have to do it with a little extra work.

Prayers are an expression of love and a desire to find mercy on the person we pray for. Prayers are the service of relationship to the Lord through the sharing of praise and value for Him and ideas and desires for Him. At different times, we find mercy for our brothers and sisters in the greek word and the result is 11 examples of Prayers from the greek bible where we find the action of giving prayer to the Lord through mercy. When we put these into the context of the whole prayer, we can better understand what we're actually doing when we do this.

When we go to the Greek bible, we see many examples of the action of giving prayer to the Lord through mercy. For example, when we look at the account of Moses in the book of Genesis, we have the situation of needing to deliver the Ten Commandments to Pharaoh to be obedient. Moses is a very humble man, but he does not get himself ready physically to go up against the great river that cuts across the land. Instead, he gets ready mentally and by means of the power of the voice of God telling him what he has to do. So, in this instance, he goes up against the river and does just what God told him to do and we know that by putting this into the context of the prayer, he received favor and was justly treated by the Pharaoh.

This is a common form of prayer and we use this prayer all the time to ask for the Lord's mercy. In the prayer, we mention specific names of people that we pray for, and then we say the prayer using common form. It might read something like this: In you, O Lord, I have placed my hands; give me your kingdom, for you are my Rock of refuge, and your fortress wherein I place my trust.

The most common form of prayer in Greek is the prayer of contemplation. This means we mentally imagine ourselves in heavenly places and speak to the gods for our needs and requests. We often cite John the Baptist as a typical figure for this, and it says that John is a very humble man with great respect for Jesus Christ.

There is a particular translation for this verse in the greek which is very difficult to translate because it doesn't actually make any sense in greek. However, we have a different opinion on this one and we'll just mention it for now: "I am filled with the spirit of God". Now then, back to our main point: unceasing prayer. It is the best way to prayer, as we can always be thankful to the Lord, and always see him face to face. Prayers for the betrayed is therefore important, but not in a way that involves being greedy or trying to find someone to pray for us.
